Artist's Comments

I decided to make this deviation into two versions:

* This one which is the cast and drawing
* and ( [link] ) this one, which is the full poster

Digitally painted from scratch in Corel Photopaint 11 with my lovely wacom tablets, with the poster from the movie itself as a reference.

I'm interested in all sort of comments.
And if anyone could help me out on how to make the skin less smooth and more... skin-ish in this program, I'd really like to learn that.

This is much betetr, I think. :) The face of Johnny Depp was rendered extremely well, considering it looks exactly like him! The girl's face is definitely better, especially her fishlips ;)
I like thelighting, and how the bottom fades into the shadows.

yay! I like when people say It looks better, as that usually means I did something right! woho.
(but.. what on earth does rendered mean? I've been wondering about that for a while now)

I think it means it was painted well. XD It's funny when I say something and I don't actually know what it means, but it sems like the right word at the time.

hmm well i think you need to bring the girls hair out more and you might want to try blending two different skin tone together or using a softer brush or the airbrush tool. other than that you did a good job.

Ah.. well, I went to the dictionary.. "To represent in a drawing or painting, especially in perspective." Not really sure what that means either but we now declare that problem as solved.
